Nerium Biotechnology's scientists established the world’s only commercial farming operation for the cultivation of theNerium oleander plant. With strict biomedical field protocols, the environmentally responsible and earth-friendly farming operations provide fields of raw material for Nerium SkinCare's botanical extracts. The fields supply a dedicated and renewable biomass resource reserved exclusively for the research and production of Nerium oleander.
Joel Curtis is the Director of Farm Operations, with a degree in Entomology and minors in Horticulture and Chemistry. His science background and years of experience in growing Nerium oleander, coupled with his knowledge of farming techniques in orchards, are woven into the development of a nontraditional and unique Nerium oleander plantation. Current farming operations adhere to strict EPA protocols, utilizing selected natural growing procedures and products.
Nerium SkinCare's product development starts with the science initiated at its USA-based farming operations, where fields of oleanders provide the raw material (biomass) for the botanical extract NAE-8. Transitioning from the nursery environment to commercial farming, the company now has over 12 years of scientific experience commercially growing the Nerium oleander plant. This provides the company the ability to control the entire process from seedlings through production to ensure quality and consistency.
Use of the Nerium oleander plant has been identified in ancient texts and folklore for more than 1,500 years. But it wasn’t until the last century that the scientific community took interest in researching its unique properties. Most recently, scientists in Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, Latin America, and the United States have worked to understand the beneficial qualities found exclusively in the Nerium oleander plant.
